What oil do you put in the piston damper on the SU hif 44 :er:

You're supposed to use SU damper oil. Mainly due to the way it expands and contracts with the oil temp.
If you want that you can get it from burlen fuel systems @ http://www.sucarb.co.uk , classic car places tend to keep it as well.

Otherwise most people put 3-in-1 oil in there... available at any semi-decent DIY store...

In a mini manual I had it says 10w40.... same as the sj engine oil

10w/40 goes in just about anything. :D We've got a 2010 Focus, an 03 Megane, a 94 Discovery 300TDI, a 92 Discovery V8 and my 410, and they're all on GTX 10W/40.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Some reports i read said su oil from burlen and the correct amount. I filled it full ish of engine oil works spot on.

Its okay as long as you aren't trying to get it in the carb on those other 3 :lol:
