reverse rear tyres

Post by urbanzook » Tue Aug 05, 2008 9:31 pm

ok i've bin told putting your rear tyres on backwards gives you more grip in the really wet stuff.

rather than pushing the mud out and forward making a mud wall stoping you it pulls mud under an you ova,

i get the tread is like that so it self cleans putting it on backwards will make it clog.

but saying that iv bin up 2 my doors in clay clogging my wheels well up. put her in reverse an she is off.

anyone know this or heard this before??

I cant really understand the theory behind this but if you put it into perspective why would they put directonal indicators on them from the factory if they perform better the other way round?! Id just put them on as advised. Dumper tyres work well!

when using them in mud the right way it pushes the mud forward. at times thus can make a mud wall in frunt off the wheels
especially in ruts an this can bring you to a stop. where if you do it in reverse the wheels will pull all the mud under it wheel an you ova. directonal indicators are used for road use an stop the rubber from wore out much quicker.
i happen to be a machine driver for a construction company. an dumper tyers do work well better when ur going back words. also there only speed rated to 45mph an if pc plod see ya doing more you can kiss you licanse good bye
