Not really sure!!!

Hey all just a quickie i have a 410 with 413 axles on spoa and want to change the shocks as they are shagged. I have £130 to spend and want to know whats the best? I would like something maybe with a bit more travel but im not sure whats the best, i would be good to know what u guys are using on yours, many thanks Palmer..

I've got ranchos on the front and Mitsubishi L200 on the rear (direct bolt on fit).

It's fine for me, the rears could do with being brought inboard a couple of inches. Loads of travel in them.

Most people have vaxhaul astra mk1 shocks
But I have Monroe shocks on mine as they where only like 30 quid with postage second hand plus they are 2 inch longer than standard

Palmer it doesnt matter what shocks u put on.... u allways end up on ur side lol.

Allthough they are not fitted yet ive got 4 x astra mk2 rear shocks (cost me £50 new). They have 9.5 inches of total travel compaired to 6 inch standard ones. They will take abit of fitting specially on the rear but nouthing a couple of plates and a bit of weld cant sort.

I should be back at the next meet with the suk, built bigger and better than before to woop them old landys up! MUD ON!!

Hello mate I wondered who that was when I started reading your post. Yes mate it will be good to get your zuk back down the pit on the 28th. Where did u get your shocks from buh???

I bought 2 first from uni part for about £7 each, 2 months later i tryed to get 2 more and they said they were old stock thats why they were cheap and now they are about £27 each!!

So i got the other 2 from euros instead, think they were about £15 each.

From what i hear they give a softer ride and if ur springs will bend that far they give more articulation, not a bad thing for spring over axle :)

Ideally you need to flex your SJ up and measure between the mounts to get the open and closed lengths you need before buying shocks, it's no good running a long that's closed length is too long otherwise it will limit your up travel.

Remove all shocks, Lift a front wheel until the back wheel lifts then climb under and do some measuring, then do the same but lifting one of the rear wheels.

When you have got a measurement take 1" off the closed length to make sure when fitted that you won't bottom them out.
