my 413
thot id better get round to starting my build thread.
got my wee sj413jx from a very nice guy round my way after i showed a bit o enthusiasm about it and askd him to sell me it. he said no, but i left my number with him. next day he called me and askd what id give him for it, told him 100 noops, an he gave me it for nowt he even helped me tow it round to mine, what a guy!!!
day 1: cleaned it out, and it gave me a quid, hidden under the seat
result, gotta build it now i thot.
this was it
as i looked closer it became clear tin worm had been on bonus time!!
you get the idea eh?
so i had a look around with my good friend MR. ANGRY, and after a wee coat of primer i was left with this
then i had a flash of inspiration, had access to a load of steel oil drums.
so i set about makin sum new arches outta them, crude,i know, but im on minimal budget
then a bit more cuttin an sum weldin and they looked like this
back of front arch
front of back arch
back of back arch(from above)
new checkerplate armoured wings

also done box section sills as i went along.
refurbed the wheels in funky orange, but im gonna change the colour again
since then ive stripped the rear end, axle, springs, shocks and tank.
hit everything with a flapdisc and given it all fresh paint.
rear axle
was out today an sorted out the chassis(spotless it was!) and rear underbody with a fresh schutzin.
just waitin on add a leafs and new u bolts comin, then its re-assembly time wi poly bushes of course.
still lots to do but its comin on
