Ok, I reeeeally want to follow you now Ladaman, and put an M15a in my SJ. It's the last job on my list, but I'd like to be able to tow with my SJ, and 65ft/lb (oficially, probably more like 50) of torque just isn't going to cut it.

This should be an awesome SJ when you're done - keep at it man! :)

Oh, and how hard has it been to get the loom and ECU to fit?

Trying my best mate, but SLOWLY getting there.

Fitting the loom and ECU in the car, piece of cake.
Getting them to work, don't know yet!!

I prefer as few wires as possible... but saying that its only auto wiring, its not brain surgery :)

Electrics don't bother me, you should see the loom I just pulled out of the GV  luckily I only need about 25% of it for the j20a conversion

I like doing auto electrics so long as it's relatively simple and easy to access; thus ruling out anything post Millennium.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
