Hi from Durham
Hi Everyone,
Been a member of the foum for a few months and been under the radar reading quite a lot of interesting posts seeing what you guys are getting upto, so I thought it maybe time to introduce myself.
Driven SJs for the best part of 25 years and currently have a Blitz 4x4 built on a 1990 Samurai, sadly only a toy now as I don`t do much offroading these days, just recently bought a straight "ish" 1995 Samurai soft top, the grand plan is to do a double body swap as I would like the 1990 reverting back to original condition as we bought the car new many many years ago well 1990! and would like to try and get it back to what it was. The Blitz kit will go on the newer chassis then I`ll decide if to keep it or sell, I`ll probably start a new thread in the Sammy build area and keep you posted to my progress. Currently stripping the Sammy down as I need the body off then I`ll paint the chassis and drivetrain as this quite exposed on the blitz. The blitz as it stands at the moment requires a MOT at the end of the month so nothing will happen until that is complete as I would prefer both vehicles with current MOT. The kit on the newer chassis will be the first build the restoration of the older chassis and Sammy tub will take longer as a little welding is required and a complete respray of the tub so I`ll be looking for some parts to complete, I must be crazy to do a double build simultaneously............................
