It's in pretty good nick to be honest, but don't worry we'll be looking after it :)

Yeah I think some gnarlier tyres would defo be a good shout.

A friend of mine suggested a hand winch the other day, what do you think? Saves spending on an electric winch and new bumper and saves a bit of weight I thought? We'll need a land anchor either way as we're crossing three deserts!

:welcome:

A couple of lads I know did the Mongol rally a few years ago in a mini. Strangely enougg I was chatting to one of them the other night about it and he was telling me about how impressed he was by a few of the 410's that took part.

:welcome: to :suzuki:clubUK matey! Good luck with the mongal rally. Looks like a nice little SJ  watch out you don't fall in love with it and want to drive it back

As long as the engine isn't a smoker you'll be fine, they are awesome little engines when looked after.

My only suggestion would be to either convert it to electronic ignition, will need a 413 dizzy and coil or just take a few sets of points, some spare condensors and some feeler gauges to set the points.
Sometimes they need adjusting every so often. Shit getting into the carb is the only other problem you might have but the carbs are easy to strip and clean. Should be a little write up on here somewhere.

I've got a cheap little 3tonne hand winch I've used a fair few times to get me out so that's not a bad idea.
