ignition ?
hello , hoping to start putting my wiring loom in next week n need sum info if poss a got the ignition barrel wif the loom n spi engine but didn't get a key , any ideas ? thanks ...

Is this the 1300 spi ? as this uses the same switch configuration as the earlier models, just the starter wire is a different colour.

The vitara 1600 SPI ignition switch configuration is quite different though.

Yer darrell its the vitara 1.6 8v spi engine thats in

By switch do u mean barrel ? , is there a cheaper way darrell just to get it running for now till a sort one out thanksss

I'll be honest, thinking about it what do people do when doing this conversion
Does the vitara barrel/switch/lock unit fit on the sj column.
Does the actual switch part come off like the SJ one
as you could just use a screwdriver to operate it, while leaving the SJ barrel in place for a steering lock.

Well av bin over this morning darrell and had a look in the box wif the wiring n that in i noticed i didnt have an egnition barrel which the lad said was in it was the inner bits lol , heres a pic , I put a screwdriver in an it does turn it soo , u no much about these push starts u think be easier using putting one on thankss

Think you may have more problems
That ring is there to read the chip in the key for the immobilizer.
No key = immobilized.
The problem with a push button start is there are more than one connection to be made.
The key chip also has to match the ecu so a different barrel/switch won't sort it.
Lets see if Rhinoman comes along as he's the guy who know's about all this electicory.
