Hello all,
well I bought my shiny silver Grand Vitara XL7 2.0td last week and so far I am smitten. Girlfriend would not drive the pick up too agricultural. Just starting to get use to being back closer to terra firmer !! lol.
Could I ask some advice? one of the seat belts in on the rear extra 2 seats won't lock in? I have looked for foreign objects but its all clear, have used my cure all wd40 still no joy..... what should i do?
Any accessories anyone wants to suggest? should I raise her up?
Regards, Paddy

What we saying then..??.. Either the Hilux had to go or the girlfriend.... Tough one mate. I have had a Hilux and I absolutely loved that truck. It was an '89 model that I had in around '93. Same as you though - not loved by the other half so eventually gave in and bought something she could get in and out of with out showing the neighbours everything!!paddymanx wrote:Hello all,

Re: ex hilux owner but now Grand Vitara XL7 owner
First up,
I had a similar problem with the seat belts in a Toyota. I replaced the buckle - safety really isn't worth messing around with.
I think I paid about £15 for a new buckle from a main stealer. It's worth the money to know no-one is going to come flying out of their seat in a crash.
If you know enough about seat belts to repair/maintain them properly, that's another thing - but if you're having to ask about it on a forum, I'd say bite the bullet and swallow the cost, whatever that may be, for a new buckle.

I just broke a GV2000 so I would imagine they use the same belts. if you need them I'll be happy to sell them.
