Re: Anton's build
Yeah, I adjusted it up so it runs nice and steady at 1000rpm.
It's nice! Slowly but surely the SJ is getting tuned up *just so*.
Only...
Left the sidelights on the other day. Came back from work tonight and everything is dead. Properly, utterly dead.

Re: Anton's build
And/or a lorry battery...
I would like to go LED's all around, for the longevity/reliability. Eventually. But I guess this is also a good secondary reason!
I think I might wire up a switch in the door jam that sounds a buzzer when I open the door with the lights on.

I hate that bong bong bong noise. Put the key in...bong. Key out...bong. Open door...bong. Drives me batshit.
If it ticks over...leave it

I remember the Cadillac CTS-V being reviewed on Top Gear. The 'bongs' were the main talking point, donkeychomp wrote:I hate that bong bong bong noise. Put the key in...bong. Key out...bong. Open door...bong. Drives me batshit.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Re: Anton's build
Mud monsters today.
Freakin' munched through everything. Nothing was coming close to stopping the SJ, except for...
...the fact that the clutch was on it's way out.
Acted as a ground anchor for molehill a couple of times, and tugged out a disco.
Brakes were flawless - rear disc conversion definitely worth the time and effort.
Coming home, the clutch was slipping like a crazy thing. Crawled up to 45mph and that was top speed. Going up hills was "interesting"...
But Suzi got me home, and, bless her, I fell in love with the old gal all over again today. Freakin' awesome.

Re: Anton's build
I bet it felt great to play out again didn't it?
A bit of a shame re the clutch, but far from the worst thing that could have happened.
Get a new one popped in, and get back out!!
