Project Bodge

Post by ferris » Mon Feb 15, 2010 7:57 pm

Ok so my MOT ran out a couple of weeks ago. I new it was'nt going to pass, so iv decided to take the opportunity to give it a full overhall.

Nothing to extream planned mainly sorting out all the rust, new paint job, and new engine. Also i would'nt mind some bigger wheels so may do a body lift, or just chop a bit extra off the arches.

Any way enough talk......here are some pics.

So far im still stripping it all down, discovering all manner of rust.

This is what SJ ownership is about. A constant battle with tin worm. If we all got together we cud buy a large bodyshop and a motor factors.

I would say you've a "good couple of hours" work there.

Nothing a grinder and welder wont repair tho.

Enough chit chat..... To the garage!

Cheers guys, all help is greatly appreciated. Im ok with the ripping apart and cutting up, its just the putting back together and welding i may need a hand with.

I think your right about the box section sills, there is not much left of the old ones. Does any one know the best place to buy box section and sheet metal?

I'l keep you posted on the progess.

theres plenty of steel stockholders in bristol,, Mccarthys, etc,, i would do the same,,
box section the sills,, cut -up the archs, and remake new, then once you have a solid base/floor,, your away..
By the way, were are thouse pics taken, that looks like some good lanes>??.
