Hand brake, brake shoes.

Post by Darby » Tue Apr 29, 2014 6:00 pm

Hi there, I need a bit of help/advice regarding my SJ, I want to put a new set of brake shoes on the hand brake, but I can not find the right shoes anywhere that have the leaver on for the brake cable to connect to, iv been to a few places including Suzuki and neither of them can help me, so just throwing it out there and see what people have to say.

Many thanks.

Simon.

Is it a transmission brake (on the transfer box?) or on the back axle?

Any photos of the shoes it has on?

Try the brake international website.

Brakeinternational don't list any for the Japanese built models.
However "Google" ADK84109 and you will find lots of people selling the ones for the Jap version.
Made by Blue print which some people don't like, but they are readily available.

I got transmission brake shoes from my local motor factors. Fairly sure I fitted the Japanese brake (the one with the hole in the drum to adjust it)

Think I paid £20 is for a set of 4 from a local factors.

If you take them down to a factors and give them the vehicle details they should be able to match them up.
