Another messy job completed ...doors and sills injected with Waxoyl.....wife went shopping in it afterwards and said she did not like the smell at all.while driving, so i will see what else i can cover in Waxoyl.. (hate anyone driving my Suzuki)

WAXOYL sj 413
Re: WAXOYL sj 413
Good to see Waxoyl is still the stuff - last used it on an old Mercedes SL about 20 years ago (and on a 65 Cooper S before that). I just got a 413 and will be doing the same soon. Haven't inspected the sills yet but is there an easy way in to get the spray? I used to have a long clear plastic tube with a roofing nail in the end - it was intended to fan the Waxoyl out in difficult spaces (box sections etc).
Do you thin the Waxoyl at all?

That's a good idea, though I can't picture it. I once bought an SJ that's was quite rotten, there was still Waxoyl on the inside of the panels but the coverage was very poor.djc wrote: Haven't inspected the sills yet but is there an easy way in to get the spray? Re: WAXOYL sj 413
sorry not very explained. Did work v well though.
You get a length of clear tube with I/D around 3mm (approx). One copper or similar felt roof nail (the one with big head). Whack a flat onto the nail bit with hammer - so it fits and stays in tube but aloso lets the waxoyl through. Attach tube to pressure sprayer and test - with a little tweaking should het a good 360 degree fan of oil all over the place.
For this I used to thin the oyl, white spirit I recall. Seriously good for accessing all the hard bits, which are the most important to get into of course. If the spray is uneven don't fuss, just rotate the tube often to cover everything. And the thinned oyl flows down into the crevices where moisture would gather - don't these things tend to rust from the bottom up??
