Oh right ok, I was hoping I could get away with riveting a 3mm plate just to scrape through an mot?? Do you think I'm doing the truck in the right order? I was going to do the interior then the suspensions and engine and thinks like that and then the body work??

I would get that hole sorted out before you do any more on the interior... except give it a good clean of course ;)
Is there a big hole in the bulkhead?

Yeah there is a very very tiny part in the footwell and there is a big rectangular shape hole into the engine bay, it looks quite neat so I thought it was supposed to be there as a grommet or something for all the wires??

There was probably a round grommet in there originally

Get the interior out and clean up all the muck inside, weld that patch, a rivet on bit will fail the MOT, sort all that out and coat it in rust killing primer. Once those little bits are done then suspension and engine checks, make sure all the lights work. (and do the kingpins lol)

I'd be amazed if the SJ is listed as destroyed... the scrap yard would get more than a bollocking, more like a massive fine.

So get a new V5 and get it MOT'd!

Yeah I looked into the requirements for an mot and it states riveting is a fail, gutted about that as it would have saved a lot of time. Yeah I'm going to sand down all of the floor today and then start to repair it all and then paint it.
Yeah I would be amazed too as it would have to be in worse condition then that for someone to scrap it surely? It's not a bad truck in all honesty.

Heres my progress for today, I ran out of sandpaper after doing a bit of the drivers footwell so I then started swearing at the bras on the front when they would come undone so I had to grind them and which is harder then it sounds on your own lol
