luke you are right about spacers.
the limit was 28mm,but as you cant buy them they let 32mm go.
there was a bit in the regs (awdc) that NO use of spacers in any class accept modified
but it's really all down to the scrutiners,i have not had any probs in 8 years.
as for wheel bearings,yes the physic's would say that it increases the load on the
bearings,but again ive never found it a issue.( 32mm spacers,+1" wheels)
i think its all down to how you drive around corners on the road and at what speed's you corner...

one thig i forgot to say is pay the extra and get billet (machined) ones..
i'm a tight ass i run cheap ones on adverage i have one -two break up a year....BE WARNED.
as they are cast out of very poor quality alli they DO crumble very easilly
