Howdy I remember when mine looked like that sounds like most things are an easy fix

With the handbrake cable you will have a short cable coming off the bottom of the lever (about in the middle of the car underneath), then it splits into two, and then should have a cable going to each drum.

Get a friend to wiggle the handbrake lever up and down and from underneath it should be relatively easy to see where the breakage is

That's great thanks, hopefully I can get it on a ramp on the weekend. Alternator and battery turn up tomorrow.

Vehicles left standing for a long time can cause the clutch to stick to the flywheel. The easiest way to release it is to put it in a high gear, press clutch pedal fully, press the brakes (you may have to chock the wheels ) and then try starting it. Hopefully that will release it.

When I posted this I assumed it was running and wouldn't go into gear.
Now I'm confused as it should go into gear when not running.
Did you just try putting it in gear because the brakes are shite ??
Could just be the transfer box in neutral if the transmission gear lever moved into position ok

Hi all. Solved the gear issue. The transfer box was not in gear, once in it selected all gears.
The brake fluid was full and once I pumped the pedal the brakes came back ish. I think just a case of a good bleed.
Engine oil up to full level and looks good. Alternator on tomorrow if it's an easy job, and hopefully it's a runner.

Alternator should be a nice easy job! A plug, and 3 bolts or so to hold it on
Might be worth investing in a new belt as well while you're at it.... never hurts to carry a spare (as I've found out)
