Re: Ratty's first sj
considering the price of rear brake shoes, and the grief the drums give you, it might very well be worth it to do a rear disc conversion.

have a look at this, and you'll see what's needed for it, and the effort involved. a lot of people have done this conversion, and they all are very happy with it

It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out

Re: Ratty's first sj
Having done a rear disc conversion, I can say that it's fairly easy. But...
If you want to get the brake bias correct, you have to use Rover rear calipers. I'd say that after all the fartarsing around I did, if I was going to do it again, I'd just pay for a muddyzook kit.

Re: Ratty's first sj
Can you put vitara rear discs on an sj?
Wont that be cheaper?
Or sj front discs on the rear?

Re: Ratty's first sj
Rear disk should be pretty easy as youurs is a early 413 tin top
So it should have a prop brake.
Ive used the rob storr kit and it seems pretty good.
My friend has done the cheaper diy option (can be found on here)
And that seems just as good.

Right so been at work, (motor factors) and we usually buy our parts from Fps, Euros, or bennetts.
Euros sent me the wrong parts and couldnt get me the rear brake cylinders.
Has anyone tried adl blueprint parts?
Is there anywhere online i can get:
Rear os & ns brake cylinders
Rear os & ns brake shoes
(Or if they come as a kit)
Ns front swivel hub bearing and seal
Os front swivel hub bearing seal only
Rotor arm
My reg isnt coming up on their computers or chassis number.
I have a 1.3 petrol 1985 sj 414.
