Re: July 6th-7th Wiltshire by-way session
Plan is to fit modern interior from whatever current Nissan's have nice leather seats, modern engine and running gear. New suspension/brakes etc then a respray, possibly in red or black.
I'll then run it as a daily driver.
I'm currently looking for a crash damaged Skyline GTR for donor engine so if anyone know's anyone who's written one off that would be very handy!
Basically, it'll be tax exempt, £100 to insure, classic 70's styling with modern performance and reliability.

Thanks, I teckon it should be pretty cool.
It's something I've always wanted to do, I love old cars but they're not reliable enough to use as daily drivers so this should give tge best of both worlds

I thought you'd like it KarisKaris wrote::( I want a Datsun :(
Well I reckon it's going to take me at least a year to do but once I'm finished you're welcome to have a go in it.

Status report of my Zuk (& me)
Exhaust blowing (only a small hole about two inches square where its vibrated the mount off) - to weld up
Air filter - dead, it was rather dusty
Oily bits. Still leaking but never topped up and still full
New temp sender off Andy good. Rest of the cooling system not so good.
Tick over - lumpy. Service required.
Outside - cleaner than it was due to some very narrow, very prickly bushes.
Inside - dirty, very dirty. May even have to clean it out now.
Tyres - very impressed.
Rebuilt calipers spot on
Sun burn, still red (except the white spots where the mud was).
Spine - Broken
For those concerned the diff oil was £5 a litre. You know who you are.
Congrats to Dan for never having any issues or laying a spanner on his Zuk all weekend. To be fair mine ran really well. Just a bit hot. At no point did i have to use spanners or add any fluids of any kind to it.

Re: July 6th-7th Wiltshire by-way session
Ahhh go on then...
SU carb screws need finding and replacing
Rear diff needs replacing (but is still working!)
Need to swap front prop flange and refit
Need to get different alternator so I can send trotters back!! (thanks trotter!)
Edit: also replace/refit front axle oil seals!!!
Jordi I'll buy you a few pints for the diff oil, although it just kind of spread itself out all over wiltshire!
I noticed it has leaked on my work car park so theres gotta be some in there still!!!

Mine
Now runs better than it did when I started the weekend after leaning off the mixture screw as it had wound itself out, shame I left it until around 3.00 on sunday to sort
Is covered in mud everywhere
needs new front wheel bearing and possibly a kingpin bearing or 2
New back axle and diff: awesome.....but....
needs a new rear hub oil seal after the bearing being loose, I didn't check after fitting the axle and it leaked diff oil all the way to the meeting point, now it now has a small leak
need to give Jordi some dosh for diff oil (or a 33" tyre for a spare )
Trucker arm, quite a few shades redder/browner than my left arm
mildly saw back (thank f**k for YJs )
Need to fit an extra screw onto my SU after giving Twiss one
