Re: Kawazonkey
We'll see - the point of starting with the Honda was so I'm less likely to do stupid things before I've learned to handle it...
It's been a long time since I've been on a bike - nearly 10 years!

Re: Kawazonkey
The little Kawasaki has been sold, next up the Mito. The starting issue turned out to be two frayed wires from the starter button rubbing on the frame and shorting out. Re-soldered them and a new battery and she started striaght away. MOT this week.

I like the red and green, it reminds me of the Mike hailwood Ducati SS replica

Re: Kawazonkey
I've always liked the Mike hailwood replica, I've got a magazine article from the 80's about it, well, my dad gave me a massive collection of road bike magazines, all in ring binders, he said 'do you want these? Or I'm going to throw them' so I got the collection. As I was into bikes at that time I read them all, it covered loads of 80's bikes. I especially liked the reviews of new bikes. They included thinks like the kh100, the rd50/125/200 and th cbx1000 but some of my favourites were the mile hailwood Ducati and the Benelli 750 sei (x6 individual silencers - it looked great)

Re: Kawazonkey
Waiting for a decent day to take the Mito for an MOT so I thought I'd change the power valve cables...she wasn't pulling cleanly at high revs and now I know why...the pulley is mullered. There was one on ebay so I have ordered that. Had to repaint the seat on the race bike and now it is on, as are the coils...

Re: Kawazonkey
Mia had her MOT today and failed but on four minor issues. Exhaust blowing (now fixed) chain too tight (I have a link I can add) fuel filler seal missing (big problem as there are none...might take one off another bike) and a bent clip on (found a brand new one for £25). So nail these bits on and she gets an MOT.
A little miffed as this is the first MOT failure I've had in 10 years but these things happen. Mark the MOT guy was very impressed with the bike...he saw it when I first got it and said 'good luck with that hunk of junk'.

She has an MOT. Now on ebay. Within 1 hour she had 111 watchers and 8 emails all asking 'how much'. I answered make me an offer, none have so far.

Re: Kawazonkey
Remember this hunk of rust that came out of little Kawazonkey? Thought I'd spruce it up and have it as a kind of 'objet d'art'. Think it came out quite well...

Re: Kawazonkey
nice work on all of them!
I have a bit of objet d'art in the workshop now. Not sure I have the heart to cut it up for the soft top resto
