Re: Mikes Samurai build updated 03/01/2013 :)
Hello,
Right had a bit of a shit week. Someone nicked my ifor Williams trailer a few days ago, and someone drive into my navara today !! Not going well. But I bought an 8274, which made up for it a little bit
And I bought another vitara to steal the engine from and get another set of big calipers (as some thieving prick of difflock never sent me the ones he sold me)
So I have that to rape some parts from.
Beadlocks are nearly done one left. Hopefully do it tomorrow and paint them all.
Next problem is the back axle, it's bent so I need a new one, spoa it, truss it, diff guards ECT, build it back up with new wheel bearings and stuff
Then put it all back together, fit the 8274, fit the paddle clutch I just bought from America.
Then hopefully It will all be just in time for round two of the mud monsters winch challenge, but I am unsure of that yet. I may not do this one, then fit my m8000 on the back ready for round 3.
Got some tree sliders on the way as well from md 4x4
Il post up pics of progress

I hope you take better care of the winch role than the previous owner. That is appalling! "Birdcaging" FUCKs winch ropes!
Thats a total shitter on the navara and trailer mate.
Congrats on all the new bits though!

Looking forward to the update pics, if your winch challenging have you thought about the gigglepin double motor conversion for the 8274? apparantly its the dogs bollocks, the 8247 has always been my favourite sort of winch!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the trailer and truck mate, that really sucks balls!!
How come you've got another engine? Your current one hasn't been in that long has it? Or is it just for a spare?
Looking forward to seeing pics of it all coming together!

Sorry to hear about your run of bad. Still, that's an awesome winch - gonna love playtime with that aboard!

Bought the vitara as I needed the vented calipers, and a spare starter.
Thought I'd just have the engine as a spare and it had a brand new rad in it too.
Yeh hopefully it will start to come together soon, just need to make time and get on with it.
A very good mate of mine has moved round the corner from me now and a few beers and keabas and he's happy to nip round and help me do bits.
Got an extra leaf in the rear springs, standard old man emu springs don't like spoa !! There a tad soft to say the least. That's sorted now with the low range offroad shackles on, bit more lift to help even it up. It was very nose high before.

Have to get some pics up when you get the axles and suspension all done.
I've been looking for TOR but only the bigger WH Smiths seem to stock it.
Is one winch going on the back then? How/where do you plan to mount that one?
