How're the rest of the welds in your suspension holding up?

Anton I went over everything else after seeing that! All's well. Was one hell of a shock (lol) to see it like that though.

The misery continues. Left this morning to go to mum's and there was a huge BANG, the rear wheels locked and the truck skidded sideways down the road...
Found this in the middle of the road. Well, at least it's not raining I said to myself and got the tool box out the back. No 14mm socket dammit. Called the AA and as soon as he rocks up it starts raining. Anyway he got the prop off and I put her in 4H and gingerly drove off nursing a severly knackered front wheel bearing.

Well I think that's technically called 'buggered'. Did a mild bit of chassis damage too but nothing some waxoyl won't hide. Off to get the bearing done tomorrow I hope...

The rear diff is not locked up? Maybe you need to find out what that guy did to your pinion...

I don't think it is but now you mention it....I'll check tomorrow.

Sit rep. Rear diff is fine it's the rear prop that is mullered. New wheel bearing in and new front pads too but 4WD using the front wheels only is truly awful and now I know why. The tbox is now a few mm too high and the props are rubbing like crazy so I lowered it and it has helped but I'll be buggered if I drive it like this. Might be able to cobble a decent rear prop from parts I have (going to check tomorrow) unless someone here has one handy. Been using either the gf's car or the fucking bus. 2 hours to go 8 miles is insane. And they rob £4 off of you!

Did the driveline angles muller the rear prop then? I ask because I think it's important to work out why this happened so you know you're not going to blow another rear prop...!

Your rear suspension setup should not allow the pinion to rotate and bind up the rear prop, should it? And by that, I mean that your coil sprung setup should be less susceptible to axle wrap than leaf springs, so unless LC cocked it up you should have less driveline issues than the rest of us, not more!

Since matey boy helicoiled the transfer box mounts it's not been right suggesting that the box is now sitting where it shouldn't be. Before I go anywhere I need to study various angles of dangles to get it all to line up right!

No transport now for 3 weeks and the buses are driving me crazy. £4 one way and sometimes a 7 mile journey is 2 hours. So I borrowed some money and today bought a Toyota Yaris with a years ticket for £460. Amazingly this vehicle is the most modern one I have ever owned (2003). Now leaves me in a bit of a dilemma. Sell an unfinished bike (not a lot of dosh) or sell Piglet. Either as she is or fixed with a new MOT. If I do sell the truck the problem is I know I'll never ever get another one. Maybe another SJ but not an LJ. What do you reckon lads?

Any chance you could finish the bike and sell it?
