Evening all,
Just bought a 98 Vitara JX, pretty original, no rust

Just the paint really faded
its not pink...honestly.
As far as I can see the only problem is it whines when you put it in 4wd...hi or lo. Is that an indication of dry bearing in transfer box due to lack of use in 4wd? Apart from that it seems ok.
As I understand these are pretty good off road? Thinking of a bit of green laning.
Here's a few pics

Hi and welcome to the club! Vitaras aren't the best 4x4s out there but with a Few mods they can be made pretty good
Not sure about the tbox whine sorry

welcome! Looks nice n clean (and pink). That steering wheel would give me a headache

Sorry can't advise on the Tbox, mine makes a certain noise that I suspect may be chain related but I too need some expert advice.

Hi! Best advice I can think of is to drain the tbox...see if any little flecks of metal come out...and refill with nice fresh oil. May as well do the diffs whilst you are at it!
If it ticks over...leave it

That's what I'm going to do first, apart from that it drives ok.
