What are the pros and cons to bigger shackles? Would going 3/4" make to much stress on components?

Ruin castor angle.

Ruin approach/departure angle.

Ruin drive line angles.

Ruin springs.

The longest shackles I would ever suggest running on stock springs would be 100mm between centres, stock are 70mm. This won't effect your caster angle or approach angle enough to cause any issues.

I've got 100mm shackles on the front with lift springs, and they are OK
Then +3" lift shackles on the back, which are utter crap!

Depends how you use them, but not just as a cheap form of lift

All im after is to lift the transfer box up a bit

You can lift the transferbox without touching the suspension. might even get away with lifting it around .5-.75" with no modifications to the body.

when you lift it 2" so it's above the bottom of the chassis rails you need to tweak the transmission tunnel. (these aren't my pics)

I prefer the extra clearance, it does make quite a difference not having a Tcase hanging down to catch on things.

I do have a guard as well though so I just slide over stuff
