strange noise

hi guys recently been getting my sj back together
just insured and taxed and drove on the road for the first time
when i go over 30 mph theres a loud screeching sounds awful
it only happens when accelrating in 4th or 5th gear
i have since changed the oil in both diffs and the gear and transfer box
any ideas on what it could be? any help would be very handy
am currently scared to drive incase i blow it up!

Could be a dry UJ on one the rear or gearbox-tbox propshaft. take them off to inspect and see it one has gone stiff.

great thanks will try that tomorrow when theres excessive play does it need replacing?

Yes! You can get new UJ's or source a good replacement prop instead.

Chances are if its only squeeking at speed and under load one has gone dry (so far) and might not have any play yet, if that is the case you will have to remove the props to check.
