Hey have a sami with a vit lump fitted. Was running before. Now its not.
Chaned the fuel filter and now in not getting any fuel to the carb. Su hif44 is it likely to be the pump is gubbed or just air?

Are you running an electric fuel pump? If so, pull the fuel feed pipe off the carb and leave the pump running for a while to see if any fuel comes through, could just be an air lock. If not disconnect all fuel pipes from everywhere and blow through them all, with a compressor would be best, just to blast out any crap. Finally some fuel filters (possibly all) are directional, so double check its the right way round.

Cheers its running the standard cam driven fuel pump would u recomend swapping to electric? Fuel filter is right way round so will try checkinh the lines wen i get home

Adding to what Tim said, if you're confident that the fuel lines are clear, take the hose off the outlet of the pump and see if any fuel comes through to check that the pump itself actually works.
Sometimes you can hear the pump running so it sounds like it should work but if the diaphragm has failed inside it then it won't actually pump anything.
Some fuel pumps can be opened up to inspect but I have a feeling the Vit one is sealed (could be wrong).
Personally I would keep the mechanical fuel pump if you can. It's a kind of a fit and forget item which doesn't need any additional wiring in the engine bay like an electric pump, and it doesn't matter how wet it gets when wading etc.

I agree with you CottonAdmiral regarding keeping the mechanical pump, the only reason I ran an electric pump was to wire it up to a special connector in the cab that had to be attached for it to run as an extra security measure.

You dont mention the time duration since it was last running fine,the reason i mention this is that if it was a very long time duration petrol can go 'stale' with age and that could be a possible cause of the problem.
Of course it is a total long shot,but often over looked,i have to change the petrrol in my mower after the winter as its a bugger to start without new fresh petrol.

If just stuck a fresh gerry can in and it was only 2 weeks since last ran. Ill double check the lines to be on safe side. Hopefully its a easy fix. Thanks for help and advice

I would have thought LycraCorporal was the more obvious slur? 
I didn't realise you even had an electric fuel pump but yeah there are pros and cons to either config, additional security being one of the pros for the electric pump. If I was particularly worried about mine being nicked then I'd definitely go for the added security too.

My sj came with no keys so maybe the security of electric pump is a good idea

Oh right! If that's the case then yeah, maybe have a think about an electric pump. You can add a simple safety feature by putting the electric fuel pump on a switch and hiding the switch away somewhere.
