LJ80 Low Hood Frame.... Slider. Wanted

Post by Rabid Rhino » Sat Apr 04, 2015 1:12 am

Is this the right place to ask

I'm about to buy a low roof frame, not the high "pram top".

The frame mounts to the top of the tub sides on fixed 12" long "U" channels.
The frame ends slide in these channels between the up position & the down.

Its missing 1 if these channels.

The part number is: 71720 - 63000

Anyone know who may have some spare frame parts or where I can get the part ?
Or even a whole other frame.

PS
What I want to do.
Heap Rampage style top.
The rear is not verticle. The rear top is sloped towards the front so the roof is about 6" to 9" shorter.
I'm going to take my Leigh J Catherick (even his initials are LJC) built LHD LJ160 to MasterCovers on the 20th or 21st April for them to take measurements.

Got quoted over here by a local guy to make me a soft top..... (He's done them before for a Samurai). $2,000.00 to $3,000.00 was his quote range.
Even if I had the car in the US it would be almost the same to...... ship it to Southampton at $1,100 each way, fly to Gatwick ($750 return ticket includes 3 day car rental) to get the top fitted at MasterCovers then ship the car back and fly back myself.

Welcome! Yes, you're in the right place. I'd think Scottie (the boss) or donkeychomp might know, I have no idea - I'm just saying hi!
