Clunking sound while taking corners

Post by Threapleton44 » Sat Jul 04, 2015 1:37 pm

Hello all.
I drive a 2003 Suzuki Grand Vitara, short wheel base.
I have a rather worrying clunking sound coming from the front axel/ steering column/ suspension.
Happens when the wheel is turned left taking a left turn, when the weight shifts to the right hand side of the car. It sometimes happens when going over a rather large pot hole or bump as well.
Taken her into my mechanic and he says he couldn't see anything that could be a problem.
Is there anyone out there suffered a similar problem or at least shed any light and what could be here.
Cheers guys.

sounds like a bush is worn. best bet is to get it on axle stands wieght off the wheel and then get a big bar in there and wiggle things about till u find some play.
