Hi Guys,

Been a member for a couple of weeks but only collected the car this weekend. I'd like to find out if there are any member in Gloucester that wouldn't mind me having a look under the hood of their Zuki.

My car needs a new starter motor fitting (which I have) but I want to check how to wire it up properly so thought the easiest way was to look at another car and copy that. Starter has two connections but so far I've found 3 large cables 1 Poss, 1 Neg from Battery and 1 Earth bolted to body.
I think the poss goes to the connection closed to battery, but to both neg/earth go to the terminal closest to the engine block?

Mine is a 92 Samurai 1.3

Appreciate any members close by that would allow me to have a quick look....

Cheers Guys.

The positive goes on the empty terminal post on the solenoid on the starter. Any grounds just go to the bottom bolt where the starter bolts to the gearbox. Then there is just the trigger wire to plug on to the little spade terminal.

Welcome to the club.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Dan has hit the nail on the head.
However, I would add that I prefer to connect the earth to the top bolt starter motor bolt rather than the bottom one.
The top one bolts through and has a nut so you can do it up really tight to make sure you get a good connection.
The bottom one screws into a threaded hole in the gearbox and it isn't massively difficult to strip the thread out accidentally!
