It's probably possible to re-arch a spring so that it works like new, but I don't think it would be significantly cheaper than a brand new spring.

I was thinking about it but seeing as i've got a spare set anyway i'll just throw them on. They were going to be for my van but i'm going RUF on that.

Personally I would avoid add-a-leaf. They aren't actually designed to add more lift or revive old springs, they are supposed to be used to increase spring rate and load capacity for pick up trucks, this is why they make the ride stiff and uncomfortable. The problem with adding them to old springs is that the old springs just bend around the ends of them when the suspension is working, eventually causing the old springs to snap.

Don't go add a leaf. They put the shape back, give some lift, but they are uncomfortable as they are too stiff

Don't worry guys i'm not going add a leaf, It was way back when i was new to zuks when i considered it but i soon learn't about the downsides of them. I'm just going to put a spare set of good springs i have on.

Started removing all the rust from the chassis last week! Got a bit carried away though :hahaha:

It's all good though as Mikes sorted me out with a new one. I've ordered loads of bits for the zuk and i'm giving a company a call tomorrow about hiring a wet sandblaster to do all the axles, chassis and rims etc. for both of them.

Got some more done over the weekend and the last couple days.

Stripped the chassis off and removed all the flaky paint.

Also built a trolley to move it about on.

Sprayed some Upol rust inhibiting primer and then i'm going to spray it satin black.

Going to be hopefully putting up a workshop so i should be able to get on with it without being interrupted by Britain's weather, but i'm going to still crack on with it as much as i can until its built.
