All tech relating to the Suzuki Vitara that won't relate to any other models, Front IFS etc.

Recent job on rear calipers.

New to the forum but thought I'd start to share a few things here. Having a newer Grand Vitara and not being a 'mud plugger' this might not be of interest to everyone but here goes.

I bought my Grand Vitara when it was five years old and it had a full service history. Doing a brake pad service I found that one of the rear caliper sliders had seized up. Didn't look like they had ever seen grease since leaving the factory. Trying to remove and free it up resulted in a broken slider. Bad news, but even more bad news when I looked at prices for the rear calipers on a 2010 model :shock:

Found a place online called Brake Caliper Service http://www.brakecaliperspecialists.uk/ who did a great job at a reasonable price to sort out the seized slider and refubish everything else. Photo below of end result.

Whilst the calipers were away and the car was on the stands in the garage I cleaned up the engine bay. The mud pluggers will be groaning at that photo :hahaha:

I'm a mud plugger, and no groans from here - I really like that!
1985 SJ413VX (SJ50V) with SPOA, rear disc brakes, 31x10.5R15 Kaiman Malatesta tyres, an MOT and a lot left to do!

I can't help but feel really sorry for that little Suzuki in your avatar.

When will that guy get it right? :S

He drives the thing down that bank time after time and still gets it wrong. :roll:

Get some lessons man, :salute: :hahaha:


(Oh yes - more than 10 posts and you can start taking the micky right?)

That incident is why my Zuk had one white door for a couple of years...

And I wasn't driving it at the time, so you take all the micky you want, mate. Fill yer boots. :doublethumbs:

Ha, bet the person who was driving it (and we'll have to take your word for it it wasn't you :brows: ) is well please reliving it on the avatar.

I suppose your Zuki could have all sorts of different coloured panels - how would we know when it's covered in mud :hahaha:

Anyways, Hi from me - equally don't mind being the butt of some jesting :thumbup:

Nice looking Vitara. You need to adjust your seat height- you are looking a bit low down there mate. :tongue:
