Twin SU

Post by Timmygee » Sun Apr 02, 2017 4:51 pm

Hi Guys
I'm new to the forum.
I'm building a JC Midge which is essentially rebodying a 413 to look like a pre-war roadster.
I already have a single SU fitted but wanted to know if it's possible to fit twin SU's.
If so how?

Again, why fit twin SU? If you are using the original 1.3 motor best will in the world it's never gonna be quick.

Upgrades could be a G16 16v vitara motor or the twin cam 1300 from an old Swift GTi

If you want a multiple carb set up it's easier to go quad bike carbs. You can actually get a really big increase in power that way.

There was a big discussion on the possibility of a twin SU set up on here years ago but it was deemed too much hassle as it would need a complicated custom inlet manifold.

Webcon do produce a twin Weber dcoe inlet manifold, it's not cheap but is very pretty!

I'd love to see a G16 bottom end, G13b twin cam top end, mated to bike carbs or bike throttle bodies. That'd be pretty awesome.

I had a JC midge, sold it on eBay years ago. Didn't know it was anything to do with an sj.
