Hi been have having probs with the power steering on my Grand Vitara. It's stiff then goes light.
Drive belt seems to be tight, steering UJ's seem un-siezed. So I'm left with pump or rack at fault.
Have a scrap 2004 2lt GV. Would like to know if the pump and rack are the same on both cars before as I know undoing the rack off the cross member is a bit of a pig. Have look and they seem the same pipework a little different as the 2lt is mounted on the left of the engine. Not to sure if the pullies are slightly different any one know if the can be pulled off.

Looking at the parts listings the pumps have different numbers but the racks are the same. You would need to enter both VIN numbers to be accurate though.

Cheers for that. Yes it looks like the pump on the 2lt has a wider pulley. Looks like I've got a fun day ahead of me
