Anyone know what that scoop on the bell housing is for?

Cleaned out the "scoop" of the old congealed oil and now there is a steady drip of old black oil. Any ideas where it might be coming from?

Drip where? Back of the engine onto the bell housing?

Possibly the distributor housing seal has gone.

Sorry for not replying Jordi only just saw your post. Not a lot more than the odd drip,as you say it's either that or the rear crankshaft seal.
