Noob From Somerset

Post by CoronaSrad » Thu May 12, 2011 9:54 pm

Hi guys,

Just brought my first SJ, Its going to be a project for me as i have my Gsxr 600 to get about on,

Its had a 1.5TD isuzu engine with a carlton Gearbox, 3" lift, Pro comp shocks, snorkel, Shell seems pretty good but alot of my mates have had these and as i've found out they like to hold inner secrets lol!

Im picking up some Aligator style off road tyres this weekend,

I've gave it a full respray in matt black with white roof and white wheels, Its going to get knocked about so not bothered about it being professional!

It needs an MOT though which is going to be a pain as its got problems, For one my Speedo isnt working but dont know if its the dials or off the box...

Im looking for some good upgrades so a point in the direction would be greatful as im new to all this,

Hope to meet some nice people on here, Thanks guys!

More than likely to be the cable going from the T box to the dials than the box or the dials.

What are you looking to do to it?

Oh and welcome HEnry

Sounnds like a nice little truck and that you've got some good plans for it.

As far as I'm aware the speedo isn't actually required to be checked during an mot at the moment, new regs coming in next year are changing that though. It is however illegal to have a speedo that doesn't work, but if you get pulled, you will not be moving so unless the copper is in the car when it is how would he know?
Usually is a good idea to know what speed your doing though

One more thing

Get those :snap: up :poke:

Thanks for all the Welcome's guys! Spent 3 long evenings on it this week after work, Fully stripped all the inside and cleaned her right up earlier ready for a good seal tomorrow, two patches which will be welded tomorrow aswell, Shell is better then i thought, fully re sprayed now and just preping underneath for a healthy slap of underseal! Picking my tyres up tomorrow and when there on i'll take some pics! In a way im glad i brought one which needed stuff doing as its good when you can look at it and say you done all that :)

Nothing works on the speedo at all so will take the clocks out tomorrow as its most proberly them!
