Re: A few questions before I do some work

Thanks for all the pointers for these jobs ages ago. I finally got around to them last weekend and was delighted to find the belt comes over the fan. As I don't have a lift I brought the SJ round to local mechanic to do the bushings. Naturally he had major problems getting the old ones out but the i...

A few questions before I do some work

Hi there, planning to do some work on the SJ413 this week such as susp bushings, speedo cable, reverse switch wires, new window channels, new fan belt, etc. Regarding the fan belt, how do I get the fan out of the way to change the belt (it looks fairly tired!)? Do I need to go at it through the fend...

Re: weber install help

Cheers Tramp for all that clarification. Helps a lot. Do you know if the vacuum hose on 7 needs to be of a particular length then? I'll link 11 and 13 as you both seem to have done, thanks for the pics Luke. I'm thinking I should rebuild some of this so I can plug back in the green plug although I'm...

Re: another carb query

I meant to respond to this ages ago. Good to know the fan should run all the time. I shot the carb with loads of cleaner and drove home for christmas and back - 400miles without needing to lift the bonnett:}

weber install help

Hi all, I'm pretty new to this machine still and would really love some help with the weber I just swapped into my SJ413. I want to make sure that I have it all connected up right before I try to tune it. After a quick spin its noticeably improved but wants to cut out when I stop. Great bargain for ...

another carb query

Greetings. Be kind to me I’m new to carbs! Got my shiny red ‘85 sj413 1298cc, original carb, 3 weeks ago. It was running a little high when I drove it home so I turned the idle speed screw and it was sweet for 2 weeks. Hit a speed bump hard last week and then started cutting out when off the gas, de...

Re: Newbie over in Dublin

That was a great welcome last week thanks. Been taking some time to get to know my (well my partner's) truck. Seems to be going pretty well but never thought I'd spend so much time in 5th gear in the city centre! Fitted my replacement rear door handle, new sound system, a few other fixes and waiting...

Newbie over in Dublin

Hi, a quick search tells me this is the forum I need for all things SJ413. Well its been an impulsive day. From viewing and test driving my first SJ (or anything like it), to realising it is not MOT (DOE across the pond) exempt, to having said test carried out, to sorting the cash, to organising cla...
