Re: Gearbox Rebuilding

I feel like a tw*t. Spent two and a half hours after work removing the front and rear prop shafts, transfer box and finally removing the gearbox. Took it to the bench next to the replacement to remove the reverse light sensor and noticed the two gearboxes where different :( After some reading, I thi...

Re: Gearbox Rebuilding

I won't be changing the clutch; it's only done about 2000 miles. I've never done anything like this before so I could do with some assistance!
There will be an update with photos tomorrow...

Re: Gearbox Rebuilding

On Sunday my Dad and I drove to Sheffield to pick up the gearbox. After inspection it looked to be in good condition. After work today I cleaned the entire casing. After inspection, I’m pretty sure that the gearbox has been overhauled sometime in the not too distant past. There is fresh (ish) silico...

Re: Pickup Conversion, using pieces of a Hard top shell.

This one by any chance? I think it looks spot on. ah ha!! That's the one!! Where was that? I really dont fancy having a soft top. £250 seems a lot of money to spend on a piece of fabric that can be ruined with anything that's sharp. It rains a lot in Blaenau Ffestiniog, where i live, the average ra...

Re: Painting

Im not too fussed about orange peel. Its the rust im fighting with now. I'm going to try and get rid of 99% of the rust on the bodywork and replace the plywood bits with some aluminium or steel sheet before painting. I'm debating if I should put grub screws into the holes that held the soft top on ...

Re: Gearbox Rebuilding

Yeah, get to work on some pretty unique locomotives and Victorian machinery. The Double Fairlies are the only ones that are in regular passenger traffic in the world and 'Prince', which as recently been overhauled, is the oldest running locomotive in the world that still runs on the original line it...
