I've heard good quality ones and crap quality ones. A couple of my old phones had them built in. They were really good.

Hmmm, the one I got was specifically for one of the (slightly) older style iPods, feels like something that'd drop out of a cracker though :-)

I may look into this option further as I see most generic gps' seem to have multi media capabilities so maybe that's an option... Amazing that even in 2007 suzuki don't consider an aux input to be high on the list of dash priorities.

Be warned though that it's actually illegal to transmit on FM... but highly unlikely that ofcom would ever catch you for it!
I think they are going to be de-regulating the FM band soon though now everyone is going digital

Twiss - I was aware of that and it's funny you should mention it... I recently got some super duper walkie talkies in here for the new building I've had a hand in setting up. I spoke (at length) with a (delighted) radio type salesman who was clearly ex MOD and more than happy to discuss crystals with me for a considerable amount of time... during the course of which he mentioned that he thought Ofcom probably only had one or two people who would go out hunting for illegal t/x these days so I suppose it must be a golden age for the pirate radio station. ;)

They probably have 1 or 2 people.... in the entire country!
And there is little point in pirate radio now as you can stick a radio station online in a few minutes!

You can thank iOS auto fill for that one, I have a lot of friends and family down in SA and we'd like to move down there some day so I spend a lot of time on SA forums and Wikus is my other moniker, also I praat Afrikaans (not that it'll be all that much use on a UK suzuki forum, I guess? ;) )

Temp gauge on the shiny has worked as expected all day but I am keeping a weather eye on it.

Totsiens!

That kind of low power device has been legal since 2006. Last I heard only the national stations were going digital only, the implementation date seems to continuously move backwards.

Welcome back, nothing wrong with a shiny - its good to have a mix.

Problem is most of the better transmitters aren't regulations conpliant, and generally one that is under the 50nW limit isn't very good
But as said its not like offcom are going to come round your house and do you for it haha
