Today was World Lyme Day. To raise awareness of Lyme disease, a video was released today that I wanted to share with as many people as possible.
This is a disease that can mimic ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons, Altzheiemers, and just about every other neurological or cardiovascular disease known to man. In fact it's been nicknamed "the great imitator" because of its ability to present with such a huge array of symptoms.

I'm trying to raise a bit of awareness as I have Lyme. It's been crippling me with varying levels of success for 10 years.
I hope none of you ever have to find out what that's like.

Thats nasty mate, I think its bad enough having epilepsy. Not a lot you can say, get well soon dosent fit dose it. I will share the vid on facebook, wont make you better, but will make a few more people aware.
It seems that there are so many illnesses that the medical profession have no idea on how to cure. My daughter has something called pots , we were told its rare and they cant help her, Im not comparing lyme, but for something rare we know over 20 people near us who have it and are told the same thing.

Re: World Lyme Day
Thanks, Robbie.
The frustrating thing is, there is an effective treatment for Lyme - but there's so much confusion among doctors that most of us can't get treatment. It's just a regime of various antibiotics, given intravenously, timed to synchronise with the life cycle of the Lyme disease bacteria. It takes about 2 years and costs a lot, but it's cheaper than Lymies constantly visiting the NHS with constant pain.
That's why we Lymies want to raise awareness - so we can pressure the Government/NHS/PHE into cooperation with the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society.
Basically, the more people who talk about this disease, the more likely we are to get the (relatively cheap) treatment we need.
