the one Im using is a fairly decent belt grinder its just the 4'' wide platen that annoys me, also the bench grinders with belts are rarely more than 1hp and with some of the steels im using i such as old thick rasps/files need atleast 2hp just to stop the belt from slowing down when applying serious pressure, ofcourse annealing is an option but files are so well hardened i like to preserve that if i can :) , my one will do for now....sadly haha

also yeah i love the idea of a pry knife, might make one out of an old wrench or spanner? :D
kinda like this vvvv but obviously with a steeper bevel & a chunky flat point

Handle all shaped :) just need to lightly sand back all the dark grime out of the wood from my mucky hands, then give it a coat of linseed oil to keep in the red colours :D

That's great that, fantastic work! I like the grime in the handle too, it matches the steel which is quite moody and dark, brilliant, you should be proud of it,

Haha, maybe stabbing was the wrong word, maybe a should have said it would be better for piercing whatever you want to cut!

cheers, haha actually ive only just started watching it, its awesome but some of the people are so big headed xD what got me into knife making was actually me and my best friend making play swords for ourselves to run around slashing at weeds with out of file sharpened mild steel bar (as you do when ur 7) and i actually found mine in our garage january this year and it got me into knife making :lol:
