Thank you. Not sure how I missed that in my search on the internet. Should have gone to Specsavers maybe

Re: 1991 Santana Samurai
OK today Samurai steering box removed to fit early Jimny box [part number 48600-81A20]. Jimny box will not fit without some spacers as it fouls the chassis member. Is this usual?
Re: 1991 Santana Samurai
The body needs a small amount of clearancing but it just bolts straight onto the chassis.
Don’t forget you also need to shorten the steering column, you will need a press.

Re: 1991 Santana Samurai
Before transfer box got refitted carried out Scottie's breather upgrade.
Re: 1991 Santana Samurai
More effort and the steering box did fit fine.
Yes aware column needs shortening. Getting assistance with that. Thanks.
Re: 1991 Santana Samurai
Package arrived yesterday bringing me my "alternative" power steering option. A Volvo electric pump.
Will look at trial fitting of this and then decide whether it is 'hydraulic' or 'electric / hydraulic' I decide to use.

Intend to spend time over the weekend positioning items such as auxiliary fusebox, relay location, oil catch tank etc.
Do trial layout of wiring within engine bay. Will keep me out of mischief, weather permitting!!

Re: 1991 Santana Samurai
Some positive activity today. Decided to go with the Volvo electric power steering system with an oil cooler behind the radiator.
Had purchased some connectors for the heavy duty cables which I fitted. Will be using an 80amp breaker in the circuit.
Fitted a connector to the existing grey/blue wire on the pump which I will feed from the ignition block.

Re: 1991 Santana Samurai
Bit more wiring done. New cable to starter. 50amp breaker connected into loom, replacing the previous owners 'modification', connection to battery prepared but not fitted as yet. Ignition block in place.
Re: 1991 Santana Samurai
80 amp circuit breaker and oil catch tank positioned.
Before anyone asks the question a blue tank was delivered. Red would have been preferred.
