Yeah they never did anything on my standard carb either lol
I just thought it was jammed or broken
Worth a go though

Haha sweet okay well i am going to give it a clean out and hope what ever is happening stops otherwise it is going to have to be an SU carb but they are expensive :(

Expensive but well worth it! You can do it for just over £160 think,
if you are prepared to wait and watch ebay for a while for the carb

Everyone says the auto choke is the main problem with the standard 1.3 carbs. Mine has this problem as well not all the time but sometimes, I just live with it at the min

Is there away of just fixing it instead of binning the whole thing and having the hassle of fitting a mon standard one?

What's price and availability like on an SU conversion ?

Is yours over reving aswell ? have you found out what the problem is ??

No iv never looked into it. Just does it intermittent and its never really bothered me enough yet

ahh right i hate it. i stop at lights and it just revs soo high making me look like a lemon and only way i can bring it down is clutch it but obviously quite a bit of wear :(

Thanks, you guys have persuaded me that SU is the way to go, i am watching a couple on ebay so will see how it goes.
