Thanks chrisj410 for the info. This is something that is worth knowing before a major purchase from overseas.
We also have merchants in the US that we don’t recommend using either. Since living so far away and getting close to making the decision in a purchase.
Scott, I hope this question is Ok to ask. No disrespect intended to your forum or members if it is not. Please delete it if there is an issue.
Terry
It would probably be a good idea to ask how others feel about purchasing items from Rob Storr. Please let me know if you have had a bad experience or not.
Thanks again for your help.

To be honest Chris is the first person I've ever heard say he wouldn't recommend buying from RS?
Care to go into detail Chris??
Yes it is known that he can take his time to get stuff out but as I've mentioned the suzuki products are a thing on the side for him.
I've never heard a bad thing about any of his products. The full float rear axle conversion I have got of his has been run in a suzuki racer for a long time and given a lot of abuse. the shafts are still perfect.

Bought a transfer box guard that goes nowhere near the transferbox and was told i wasn't competent enough to fit it and to redrill holes where neccesary, it's still in the corner of my garage as I can't get a refund,
On the other hand I bought a tbox guard off rockwatt fitted it quickly no fetteling, direct part, I have pictures of the guards side to side and they are totally different, so I'm aware now rockwatt doesn't sell the goods you need but I'd definatley go back to Rockwatt

I would like to see some pics of the transfer box guard and for you to explain exactly what didn't fit, not having a dig at you I'm just interested as I don't see why he would sell a guard that doesn't fit? are you sure he didn't send you a jimny one or something?
Re: 8.1 Transfer Case Gear Set???
I've been assured that it's an sj410 guard but it could be a jimny guard sent by mistake
The guard sits pissed in the brackets on the chassis and none of the props fit when the box is bolted to the guard
I lined one side of the guards up and here's a picture to show how different the dimensions are
And the pictures not amazingly clear but you can just see on the top left that the grey guard (rockwatt) is quite abit shorter then the black one
To Robbie I'm confused too matey lol
Sorry to tanzuk for the thread hijack opened a can of worms

Re: 8.1 Transfer Case Gear Set???
No need to apologize for the hijack, this is good to know information on helping me make a decision with this purchase.
I will keep this going for a bit longer to see if anyone else has had any issues. Then I will make a purchase decision.
Chris sounds like they sent you the wrong guard for your application as Scott has mentioned. It is hard to do business and make sure everything is 100%. I think they could have handled the problem much better though.
If this happens to be the only major issue with Chris along with some time delays that is not too bad for as long as RS has been in business.
I have heard that his gear sets are of good quality from others on the US forums when asking for info.
Thanks again everyone for your help and please feel free to post any other issues that you may have encountered with any purchase from RS.

Re: 8.1 Transfer Case Gear Set???
Decided to order the 6.1 gearset from RS today. Tried to call several times to verify the transaction and get tracking info, with no luck.
As mentioned he is hard to get a hold of.
RS had emailed me last week with the quote on the shipping and said I was to hear from him in 3-4 days with this info after transaction. Hopefully things go well and will keep you posted and give a review of this transaction.
I used a credit card payment to cover me incase he decides to be too slow as also mentioned. Then I will just contact the credit card and cancel the order. Have learned to always use a backup plan incase the merchants don't perform as expected.
