Which Exhaust?

Post by 88SJ » Sat Jan 26, 2013 10:28 am

It's time to look at getting the exhaust replaced on my '88 SJ

Last year I put a standard replacement on my Samurai that cost about £90 for full exhaust

Back in the early 90's I ran my '87 SJ with a Janspeed exhaust - that felt like it gave a little more power and, in my opinion, sounded better

What have you got? And if you don't mind me asking what did you pay and where did you buy?

Thanks
Paul

Quite a few people here run cherry bombs.

Mine is just welded up from loads of old bits of exhaust and attaches to the standard front box.

Its loud and pops and bangs a bit with some added fire every know and again :D

Custom stack. Bespoke made by a local exhaust manufacturer. Only issue i was too cheap for stainless.

Hoping to replace it this year with stainless twin stacks, poss straight thru!

A cheery bomb connected to the down pipe then some flexy to a cheery bomb back box. Sounds great, as Dan said pops and bangs and spits flames on the over run :D

You can hear it a mile off and the noise going under bridges, tunnels and multi storeys! :guns:

Steep down hills on the engine brake, plenty of banging and popping. I love it!

Wouldn't mind a 1600 tubular manifold, may see how much to get one made.
