Sad to say the problem is economics.. The cost to make creates a price that is too high for those of us with used Vits. I guess thats why no one has succeeded in making them commercially

Paper mache?

The Samurai used lacquered paper for their armour so maybe this is an idea. :)

I'm having a look at some stuff called worbula used for imitation armour by prop makers.
