I've managed to fit my spare starter and she fires up 1st time, so thankfully engine runs ok still. Then spent the next couple hours fitting new starter switches and hiding them up well. I've just 1 question to ask if anyone can help, my old starter had 3 connections, main power 1 and 2 spade connectors but this Bosch starter only has 2 , main power and 1 spade, so does anyone know what other spade connector is for? Both of them were used on my old starter?

Sorry to everyone who's been a victim. It really sucks when someone violates your property!

I have a couple of anti-theft ideas already implemented, but I think I'm going to add a few more now...

I know Landies are being targeted lately, but I think any half decent looking 4x4 is a target these days.

Would something like this be worth considering?

the second spade will most likely be an earth for the solenoid, where your new starter just earths into the starter body its self.

The second spade is a direct 12v feed to the coil that bypasses the ballast resistor so that the coil gets a full 12v during start up instead of the usual 9v. This helps start up.

You could just change the connector on he end of the starter trigger wire to one of these so you can hook up the coil feed wire.
