Re: Dvla help/advice
I say crossmember, but it was a piece of 1.5mm thick tube at the end of the chassis, replaced with 2x 50x50x5 angle with strengthening bits for the winch and tow bar to bolt to and a big ass plate across the rear for strength and for a bit of shape.
Haven't seen a short wheel base chassis so not sure if it's the same on them,

Taken from http://www.the-ace.org.uk/chassis-and-m ... ification/VOSA wrote:When assessing a modified/rebuilt vehicle, DVLA’s main interest is to establish whether the original identity has been compromised by the changes made. If a vehicle has been modified from the original manufacturer’s specification or if not enough of the original components have been retained in the build, the vehicle identity will change and IVA will be required to register with an alternative registration number
So I would say that you'll be more than ok.

Re: Dvla help/advice
ha ha tidy, been reading it again tonight and came to the same conclusion again - good to go.
i want to bring it, havent got a lot left to do, but not much time with work as it is at the moment, my goal is to get her on the road in the next 2 months - but as my luck is im reluctant to commit as ive had to pull out of events before because things havent gone to plan, and i dont want to let any one down again.
