Turkish sj

Post by stevepsj413 » Fri Jan 24, 2014 11:41 am

My old folks just got back from turkey, i bolted for the door when they said they had photos to show me, until they showed me these 3 with some sj's on them. Apparently where they went was full of them, mostly in white. I like the side lights in the front grill and the more rounder bumpers, kinda looks like a vit. Unfortunately they didn't know the Turkish for "can i take a photo of under your bonnet", i wonder what engines they have in them?

Quite a few in Turkey have coils springs too.

I hired an SJ in Turkey the year before last. That was a coily with an EFI G13BA engine, it was a 1998 and was spotless, horrendous bump steer though - probably something bent, the back roads where we were were awful.

I doubt that many other tourists took an under bonnet shot :D

Turkey was great, very friendly people and its surprising how you can manage when neither party speaks the same language. We were made welcome everywhere, many people were surprised to see as because most tourists just whizz by in their air conditioned coaches, view the sites and then go back again. It took us a few days to realise that we were constantly being tooted by people because they were just 'saying hello'.

It was a rented SJ in Turkey that sealed the deal for me and I just HAD to get one back here.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

They're probably Maruti's built in India.

If I was looking for a new SJ, I'd be tempted to import one!

The coily was a Jap built model, you can see the VIN plate in the pic above.
