i have a five speed gear box. it has started poping out off 5th an grinds change in down to 2nd is ok if i mach the revs.
any one got an idear on wots up?

I havn't reli got a clue, but sounds like it may be your selector, have had a couple o cars that jump out o gear due to the selector. Also has it got the right level of oil?

alot of old minis do this. Im really lucky to have one that dosent. Ive heard people say its the synchro mesh but i havnt go a clue about gearboxes.

It's your selector. If I remeber correctly there is a poly bush on the gear lever that is now worn and needs replacing.

have you dun one befor is it easy / hard as my haynes manual dont cover the box in depth how much is the part

Never done one myself, but I do have a workshop manual. Let me see if I can find more info on how to do it. Will try and get it posted as soon as I can.

I have a gear box out of my 413 dont know that much bout them yet, all I no it is the original one for a 1995 413 If you want it and can arrange pick up its yours. I live outside glasgow!

many thanks for the offer Girvy but i have one out off my other anus on an running now but i wanna fix the other one as a back up i try to have 2 off every think for this reson f**k it swap it fix it so my anus is down for less time as pos as its my work car. dont wanna use my othere on a bilding site. is 2 low.
