transfer box

So when offroading this weekend my transfer box kept jumping out of 4l when getting the revs up in the muddy stuff
4h works perfectly all the time
and if i revere more than a few feet and set off ti go forward again it will jump out
Driveing around normally on sillypy stuff in 4l its fine any1 have any clue as to what could be happening
1994 sj 413 sierra

some leaks here and there

Transfer box mounts might be bent. Some times it cause the lever to knock against the hole in the transmission tunnel.

Cheers ill have a look inabit
take it the easy fix is make a bigger hole

If it is bent mounts your better off straightening them.

I would echo exactly what Jordi said, the only thing I'd add is that I've found this happen to me before and it was as simple as the gaiter was bunching up in front of the transfer box's gearstick. This meant that the gaiter was very slightly pushing back on the stick when it was all the way forward (as in 4L). I just fiddled with the gaiter a bit to try and reduce the problem and it was fine.

having the gator on backwards can cause this and is the most common cause.

it could also be the that the lever bush is worn.

I've done what Scott said and put the gator on round the wrong way and it kept jumping out
