radiator problem - fan switch>?

All tech relating to the Suzuki Vitara that won't relate to any other models, Front IFS etc.

radiator problem - fan switch>?

just got a new rad for my vitara td commercial, and the part where the switch screws in isnt there!

can i use some sort of universal inline switch instead?
2 samurais. 1 vit and now a vit commercial :)

I used one like this... ebay special and used in combination with a relay

i havnt measured the hoses yet but this one comes on at 90 degrees and off again at 80?

Yeah you want your temp to hover between 80 and 90 thats fine... definitely measure the pipe first

As for the relay, the temp switch will switch the relay on, and the relay switches on the fan motor.
this saves the temp switch from having all the power for the fan put though it

got ya, could you recommend a relay off ebay or the like? i wouldnt know what to get lol

its a 2 wire switch.

you will need some wire, a fuse holder and a 30a fuse... and some crimp connectors (ring and spade)

thanks dude, so at the moment is the standard fan switch in the rad taking all the power that the above relay would?

not sure on the TD setup... but possibly not.
You should be able to hear it click and activate when the engine gets to about 90*C, when the fan would usually activate
